About WebP to PDF

Combines WebP images into a PDF. The format is increasingly common on the web — images saved from websites, some chat apps and screenshot extensions export WebP by default, which is why people end up with files that "downloaded but will not open": they lack a program that reads it.

Small size is its main advantage: at comparable quality WebP usually runs a quarter to a third smaller than JPG. Images pulled from web pages are therefore often only a few hundred kilobytes, which keeps the PDF light.

An animated WebP contributes only its first frame. The format supports both stills and animation, but a PDF page is static, so the animation is dropped and the first frame is what you get. If your image is animated, check before converting that the first frame is the one you want.

Decoding is done by the browser and every modern browser supports it, so nothing needs installing. Everything happens on your machine and the images are not uploaded.
