DownloadAbout PDF Merge
Drop several PDFs, arrange the order, and merge them into one. Everything runs in the browser through pdf-lib, so nothing is uploaded, even for a few hundred pages of contracts.
The list order is the page order: move a file with the arrows and the first one lands at the front of the result. Merging copies whole pages, so page sizes, vector text and embedded images come through untouched. Nothing is re-laid-out or re-compressed.
Three things it cannot do
Encrypted PDFs fail outright and have to be decrypted first. Bookmarks and outlines are not carried over, so rebuild them afterwards. Form fields and some interactive elements may stop working; static content is unaffected.
The size is not a simple sum
PDFs often share fonts and images, and merging deduplicates those, so the result is frequently a little smaller than the total. Two already-compressed scans, on the other hand, add up as expected.
Frequently asked questions
Is the file uploaded?
No. pdf-lib reads and writes the PDF structure in the browser, and everything is gone once you close the page.
How many files can I merge?
There is no hard limit; memory decides. Several dozen files or a few hundred pages are usually fine.
How do I change the order?
The list order is the page order. Use the arrows to move a file, and the cross to drop one.
My bookmarks disappeared.
Yes. Bookmarks live outside the pages and pdf-lib only copies pages, so rebuild them in the source file.
What about password-protected PDFs?
Decrypt and re-save it in your own reader first, then upload that copy.
