About PDF Split

Pick a PDF and choose how to cut it: by page ranges, one file per page, or every N pages. The results are ready to download immediately, and multiple files can be packed into one ZIP.

Three ways to split

Page ranges: type 1-3,5,8-10 and each range becomes its own file, so that example produces three files. One file per page: as many files as there are pages, handy for turning a scan into single sheets. Every N pages: fixed-size chunks, five pages each for instance.

Splitting copies whole pages rather than re-exporting them, so text stays text and sharpness is untouched. That is quite different from screenshotting pages and stitching them back together.

Two things easy to miss

The output order follows what you typed, not the file name. And merging the pieces back together can produce a slightly larger file, because each new document carries its own fonts and resources.

Encrypted PDFs are not supported; decrypt first.

Frequently asked questions

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied whole, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and nothing is resampled.

Why is the re-merged file bigger?

Each output carries its own fonts and images, and merging cannot always deduplicate them.

How do I extract just a few pages?

Use page ranges and type 5 or 5-8. One range means one file.

How many pages can it handle?

Only memory limits it. One file per page produces many files though, so use the ZIP download.

Can it split a password-protected PDF?

No. Decrypt and re-save it first.
