Text Repeater
About Text Repeater
Repeats a piece of text N times, with each copy separated by a new line, a space, nothing at all, or another character.
The separator decides what the result is for:
- New line: test data, placeholder paragraphs, batch lists — repeat a line of SQL values 100 times and edit the variables.
- Nothing: long divider rules (
====× 60), filler characters, or checking whether an absurdly long string breaks a layout. - Comma or pipe: quickly build an enum or an IN list instead of typing it out.
There is a size guard. Above 20 MB the tool refuses and tells you the estimate — not because it cannot compute, but because a string that large freezes the tab, and saying so beats a spinner.
It uses join rather than accumulating with +=. The latter is an order of magnitude slower at tens of thousands of copies (each concatenation may reallocate), which is very visible in a browser.
This is not a paste shortcut. Ctrl+V gives you one copy at a time; this produces N copies in one go, with a separator of your choosing. What you want here is repetition, not repetition of the keystroke.
Everything runs in the browser; nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Can I repeat something ten thousand times?
Yes, as long as the result stays under 20 MB. Beyond that it reports the estimate and refuses, so the tab does not freeze.
How do I make a long divider?
Enter = , repeat 60 times, separator None — that gives a 60-character rule.
Does it renumber the copies?
No, this is plain text repetition. Use the add line numbers tool if you need increasing numbers.
What if the text already has line breaks?
The whole block repeats unchanged, keeping its own internal breaks; the separator only goes between copies.
